Commercial Portfolio Manager

My client is a community bank seeking to add to their talented staff in the Commercial Credit area. They are looking for someone with a strong background in both sales and credit underwriting to join their team. The bank is financially sound, growth-oriented and provides career paths for individuals that join their team.

 

Job Description

  • Monitor the loan portfolio to ensure Borrowers financial reports, borrowing base reports and covenant compliance certificates are received as needed and reviewed on a timely basis. Request and follow-up on financial reports as needed.

  • Monitor the loan repayment and deposit overdraft activities of the portfolio and take necessary action to collect past due accounts.

  • Monitor loan and insurance exceptions within the loan portfolio. Monitor property tax reports within the portfolio. Request and follow-up on items as needed.

  • Monitor and coordinate with CL Admin construction draw requests within assigned loan portfolio.

  • Assist RM’s with pre-funding due diligence requirements for new and renewal loans.

  • Analyzes and interprets small business loan requests, understanding structure and risk, (credit, market, interest rate collateral, transaction etc).

  • Decisions small business loan requests within established loan approval authority.

  • Prices small business loan requests accordingly for risk and reward to obtain the Bank’s ROE (Return on Equity).

  • Assists with training Relationship Managers on the small business loan processing system with input on processes and procedures and/or leading training classes as needed.

 

Job Requirements

  • Ability to understand financial statements and tax returns as they relate to cash flow and determining the general financial condition of a borrower and its credit worthiness.

  • Thorough understanding of commercial banking and lending to include structuring, analyzing, deaccessioning and pricing of business loans.

  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Ability to identify and recommend varying solutions.

  • Proven ability to work with multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary will be commensurate with experience, but should be expected to fall between $85,000 and $95,000.
